A passage of about 450 words is provided from news, journalistic sources and other non-fiction writing. This paper requires

• Any significant contemporary event from India and the World
• Arts and Culture
• International Affairs
• Historical events of significance.

A passage of about 450 words is provided from any relevant fact, situation or scenario involving legal matter, public policy or moral philosophical enquires. This paper requires:

• Identify the rules and principles set out in the passage
• Apply such principles to situations based on facts and
• Understand how change in such rules and principles may alter their application to factual situations.

A passage of about 300 words is provided. This paper requires:

• Read and recognize an argument, its premises and conclusions
• Critically analyse patterns of reasoning and draw conclusion up on it
• Infer the situation in the passage and apply such inferences to new situations.
• Draw analogies, identify contradictions and thereby access the effectiveness of arguments.

This part includes short sets of facts or propositions, graphs or other textual, pictorial or diagrammatic representations of numerical information. This paper requires:

1. Infer and manipulate numeric information, graphs or other representations,
2. Apply 10th standard mathematical operation on such information, from areas such as:

• Ratios and proportions
• Basic algebra
• Mensuration
• Statistical estimation.
